Bridal jewellery sets online

My goodness, what a very long time it has taken me to initiate this move! A while back I thought that there just wasn’t enough traffic on Etsy to justify moving over, but now I think that argument is moot.
If you add to that the fact that eBay is wonderful for bargain basement, mass-produced items but not so great for handmade one-offs then the time to put off procrastination indefinitely is now…

So far I have put one thing in the shop and I’m learning as I go. I’m hoping to get up to 100 items which was what I always aimed for with eBay. I’m hoping that what I lose in terms of sheer volume of customers will be made up by the fact that a higher percentage of the people browsing on Etsy will be more interested in quality, handmade pieces rather than disposable factory items.

But I’m not high maintenance!

Even if you see yourself as “low key” or not one of those “high maintenance” type, getting married is still a big deal. Wearing jewellery makes you feel “dressed” and your wedding day is no different. Don’t make the mistake of ignoring the jewellery until the last minute because when you find the right piece that reflects your personal style and helps to elevate you everyday look to something special.
wedding-day-vows

The bridal jewellery, although not as vital as the wedding gown, is still a very important aspect to a woman’s wedding ceremony because it adds the finishing touches and makes an outfit look more complete. Some women feel awkward when they wear jewellery as it can make them feel “overdressed” however yo have to bear in mind that getting married is not an everyday event and that in years to come you will want to look back and feel like you marked the occasion appropriately.

If you don’t normally wear jewellery then now would be a good time to start researching this new area! I’m not suggesting that you go wild and end up looking like you are dripping with jewels but the sooner you start looking, the more likely it is that you will find something suitable and appropriate that you will treasure for years to come.

If your wedding day is fast approaching and you still haven’t picked out any jewellery to go with your wedding gown and shoes, these tips may  help you:

•What types of jewelry fit the style and design of your wedding dress?

It’s OK to ask for help on this, ask stylish friends their opinions or seek help from your bridesmaids or browse through wedding magazines and websites for advice and photos.

•Make a list of jewellery shops

Make a list of jewellery shops and places you believe have the jewellery that will fit with your wedding outfit.

The Final Word

•Remember, the most important thing when choosing wedding jewellery is that it is comfortable to wear and you actually like what you see in the mirror! Even if everyone else loves it, if you don’t or if it just feels way too uncomfortable then it’s not right for you. You want to look the part, feel the part and have fun on your wedding day so don’t let your jewellery drag you down!

Swarovski Heart Necklace

One of the easiest and most accessible theme for a wedding is hearts! It makes sense: it sybolises love and it’s a very pretty shape. I just love the Swarovski hearts with their sparkle and gorgeous facets. I used one to make a necklace with some cultured freshwater pearls.

I love ready-made chain, but sometimes it’s lovely to hand-craft a piece of jewellery using nothing more than a length of wire, pearls and some tools. It takes a lot of time and concentration, but it’s also very satisfying.

It’s also nice to know that you’re using all-precious materials to make something. This bracelet uses solid .925 silver, freshwater cultured pearls and a gorgeous little rock crystal dangle. It’s softly faceted to catch the light and makes for a cute little dangle to play with.

Handmade Pearl Bracelet

The clasp is from Bali and is made of solid silver. I was lucky enough to go and pick this clasp up, as part of an order, in Indonesia last year. Well we all have those boring business trips we are obliged to go on!

Pearl and Rock Crystal Handmade BraceletClick on any of the links to be taken to my ebay store where you’ll get more info on sizing. Just contact me if there are none left, or if you want to order a specific size- I know how much wrist sizes can vary and it’s one of the big perks of ordering from a handmade designer that I can make a bespoke version just for you.

Cultivated Freshwater Pearl Necklace

This necklace is reminiscent of antique style pieces, but has been updated with a subtle amount of sparkle thanks to Swarovski’s champagne coloured crystals.

winter white pearl jewelleryWinter White Bridal Jewellery

Winter weddings are very special, for the feelings they evoke, the colours, the shapes and textures.

Winter wedding accessories are fantastic as pure white pure. Or you can go for a contrast with white and a strong colour such as gold, purple, silver, ruby, sapphire blue, teal green, emerald green. The stark contrast works beautifully because the landscape outside tends to be washed-out.

Winter white jewellery works beautifully with white pearls. Go for either cultivated freshwater pearls or for the precision and flawlessness of Swarovski crystal pearls. Either will add a touch of classic bridal elegance whether you wear them simply or add a splash of your accent colour to the mix.

The beauty of shopping around for pearl jewellery these days is that there is a huge amount of choice out there with so many designers making their ideas available on-line. There has never been a better time for finding such a huge array of designs at extremely reasonable prices.

Shopping Online For Your Bridal Jewellery Sets , the Pros and Cons

cream and white swarovski pearls

There are so many advantages to buying your wedding jewellery online:

  • range of designers,
  • materials,
  • prices and
  • styles.

For even the pickiest bride you are bound to find the set of sparklies that complement your wedding day outfit perfectly!

One of the most remarkable phenomena of recent years is the unprecedented growth in the handmade jewellery sector. The ease of accessing a huge market has meant that thousands of aspiring and talented designers have found an audience for their particular niche.

But, one of the draw-backs with online shopping is not being able to physically sample the goods. So to compensate we use photography, as clear and detailed as possible and also full descriptions including the materials used and measurements.

However, one of the biggest challenges I find is with subtle colour shades. Especially when it comes to pearls.

A huge advantage with buying jewellery with Swarovski crystal pearls is that you can get hold of some samples of Swarovski crystal pearls, find the exact ones you want then order the pieces you want, specifying the shades of pearls that you need and you just know that the colours will be perfect.

Most of my customers order Cream pearls, but I also carry the White. I was just making up an order of my “Charlotte” range in both colours and I thought I’d just demonstrate the difference between the two shades.

Bridesmaid Jewellery “Megan”, originally uploaded by www.virtudej.com.

Here’s a pretty thing- little pendant necklace and matching earrings.

Ideally the bridemaids should be wearing something that matchines but that doesn’t overshadow the bride’s jewellery. PLus if it’s not “wedding-y” then it makes a nice little keepsake gift that can actually be worn afterwards.

Here in San Sebastian it’s feeling more and more like Spring!

The daffoldils have been and gone, new patches of daisies are springing up daily and the first of the blossoms on the trees are here. So, with all that new life and fresh breezes I thought it was about time to breathe some freshness into the site.

The black is gone, and in its place we have a smooth taupeness with a bit of mint to bring it alive. Thanks nefilas!

I wasn’t so much thinking of Picky Bride here so much as Diverse Bridesmaids.

When you’re trying to achieve a harmonious look sometimes all it takes is a little detail, like the earrings, to help pull it all together in a subtle way.

So here’s Charlotte, diversified a little, to help please all of the bridesmaids, some of the time…
